  1. Come to each session with an open mind and a willingness to learn.
  2. Be on time for your sessions.
  3. Be honest about your situation. We are here to work with you to resolve the issues that you are experiencing
  4. Don't worry about what your counsellor will think about you. We've all made choices that we were not so proud of in our life. Your counsellor will not judge you. This is a safe space.
  5. Be prepared to think in a different way.
  6. Sometimes homework is given as a means of assisting you in reinforcing the learning gained in session. Your counsellor will check in with you to see what resonate and what didn’t.
  7. Know that issues take time to resolve and will not disappear over night.
  8. Prepared to invest time and energy into yourself. After all, you're worth it!
  9. You are the master of your life; we are here to discuss the issues that you want to talk about. If you feel like the session is going in a direction that is different from what you envisioned, advise your counsellor of this.
